Facebook seeks a highly motivated, team player to serve as Lead Litigation Counsel for EMEA. You will manage significant and complex contentious regulatory matters and litigation, and advise internal teams on legal risks, particularly on contentious data protection matters. We are particularly looking for someone with strong written and oral advocacy skills. The role requires good judgment, a strong work ethic, a keen interest in learning about new technologies, and the ability to explain those technologies in concise and accessible ways to complainants, regulators and judges. This is a great opportunity to join a growing legal team and to work on novel issues in a fast-paced, fun environment. Lead Regulatory Litigation Counsel Responsibilities

Guide and execute litigation strategy in relation to high-profile, precedent setting matters with the potential for reaching the highest appellate courts

Advise cross-functional teams on litigation strategy on a wide variety of topics, particularly relating to privacy and data protection issues

Develop strategic approaches to managing regulatory risks and resolving disputes

Draft responses on factually and legally complex issues to complainants and regulatory inquiries

Supervise and direct outside counsel on multiple complex litigation and contentious regulatory matters

Work closely with outside counsel to produce written submissions to regulators and courts of the highest quality
Minimum Qualifications

Experience in legal drafting, advocacy and communication skills

Qualified lawyer with 5+ years PQE in a law firm or in-house, including extensive experience dealing with matters before higher and/or appellate courts, ideally across multiple jurisdictions

Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and make sound judgments under tight deadlines

Prior experience of litigating data protection issues preferred although candidates should be flexible and willing to work on projects in a wide variety of areas
