The Organisation
The University of Law (ULaw) is one of the world’s largest law schools. With an impressive history dating back to 1876, they employ over 900 staff and have over 14,000 students studying on undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, along with an alumni network in excess of 100,000. Ulaw were the first-ever independent institution to be granted degree awarding powers and in 2012 they gained university title. With a rich heritage and a reputation for innovation and contemporary teaching practices, Ulaw continuously focus on developing the best legal and business minds. In 2016, Ulaw opened their leading Business School, further enhancing their reputation as a full service legal, business and educational training specialist, operating from campuses throughout the UK, Berlin and Hong Kong and an Online campus.

What really sets Ulaw apart from other universities is the guiding principle that future lawyers and business leaders should learn in a realistic, professional and contemporary context, with plenty of practical interactive engagement. That’s why Ulaw keep the contact hours high and the teaching groups small.

The role
You will be responsible for the leadership, management and development of the team of Academics and Visiting Lecturers at the Business School. In liaison with the pro-vice chancellor, Director of the Business School, Academic Resources and Quality Manager (AQRM) and Programmes Directors, you will enhance the student experience by securing high quality teaching and assessment. You will ensure effective and efficient planning and management of teaching materials for the programmes assigned.

You will also devote a part of your time to other academic activities, particularly teaching, marking, modules moderation, dissertations supervision or pastoral care, online or offline.

Application
For an informal discussion about the role please contact Andres Perez on 01483 216851 or email andres.perez@law.ac.uk

Some posts within the University are subject to a DBS check – you will be notified of this during the application process.

As an equal opportunities employer, Ulaw welcome applications from all suitably qualified persons. However, as Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) individuals are currently under-represented within the University – which does not reflect the diverse student body – Ulaw would particularly welcome applications from BAME candidates. All appointments will be made on merit.
