Commercial/TMT Lawyer – 4-6 PQE
Arsenal is one of the leading clubs in world football with a strong heritage of success, progressive thinking and financial stability. Having won thirteen First Division and Premier League titles as well as fourteen FA Cups, the club also holds the record for the longest uninterrupted period in the English top flight and is the only Premier League side to have completed a season unbeaten.
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a 4-6 PQE commercial/TMT lawyer to join Arsenal’s in-house legal team. As a key member of this close-knit and highly regarded team, you will report to two Senior Legal Counsels and will be jointly responsible for managing a paralegal. Working closely alongside the club’s business functions, you will be required to give clear, pragmatic advice on a wide range of operational and commercial matters, with a particular focus on areas such as technology, sponsorship, retail, marketing, premium hospitality services, ticketing, travel and event management and media rights. Experience of data protection law is also desirable.
To succeed in this role, you will not only have a strong academic record and first class training with proven drafting and negotiation skills, but must also be a natural communicator with the ability to build effective relationships across the club and with external stakeholders. As a busy and varied role in a fast-paced environment, good judgment and organisational skills will be key to your success. It is also important that you feel confident working autonomously but at the same time recognise when a matter needs to be escalated. The club’s legal team operates an open door policy at all times so a personable and approachable personality will also be essential to your ability to thrive in this role. Experience in the sports or media sector could be an advantage but is by no means a requirement.
In return, we are offering the successful candidate the opportunity to further their career within a world-renowned brand on a wide range of matters.
Arsenal believes that diversity of background, skills and experience drives our success on and off the pitch. We encourage applications from women, disabled and black, Asian and mixed-heritage candidates. We are committed to the principle of equal opportunity for applicants and employees and aim to appoint on merit from a diverse talent pool.
