Job Description
The Black Solicitors Network (BSN) is a not for profit organisation committed to achieving equality of access, retention and promotion of Black solicitors. We are the leading body that represents the interests of the UK’s existing and aspiring Black solicitors.
The BSN is currently seeking an experienced Programmes Officer to support and assist the board of BSN in running some of its core programmes and initiatives, co-ordinating and facilitating membership and stakeholder engagement and managing BSN’s IT/media platforms. The candidate will actively pursue and uphold BSN’s core mission of working towards an equal profession.
The successful candidate will have a graduate degree (which may or may not be in a related field) or the equivalent and have prior experience in an operational, communications and/or marketing role, someone who is motivated by the desire to optimise productivity and nurture program success from inception to completion.

Objectives and responsibilities
• Manage, facilitate and co-ordinate the effective and efficient running of BSN’s undergraduate student skills programme, careers and network platforms, campaigns and events
• Strategise, implement, and maintain programme initiatives that adhere to BSN’s objectives
• Co-ordinate and liaise with, and manage enquiries from, key stakeholders, corporate members, members, leads and programme participants, providers and other facilitators.
• Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, facilitators, corporate members, committee members and BSN’s board.
• Develop programme assessment protocols for evaluation and improvement
• Maintain organisational standards of satisfaction, quality, and performance
Manage budget, financial support/planning for core programmes for maximum productivity
• Work closely with relevant BSN board members and, as appropriate, operations and communications co-ordinator to develop and deliver existing and new initiatives and maintain stakeholder and member engagement across BSN’s platforms

Skills and Qualifications
• Graduate degree or equivalent
• Experience in operations, communications and/or marketing role
• Excellent IT skills, including on Microsoft Teams, designing graphics, developing/drafting social media and email campaigns. Experience with elastic email campaigns would be useful but not a prerequisite
• Exceptional time management, facilitation, and organisational and multi-tasking skills
• Working knowledge of digital marketing
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Good team player, but able to work independently without close supervision
• Sound level of understanding of financial management

General terms
• Short to medium term contract: 3-6 months (with potential to extend). Working time – flexible, approx. 20-30 hours per working week.
• Pay: £22,000-27,000 p.a. (pro rated according to hours worked) depending on relevant experience.
• Full-time role, working predominantly remotely in England (accessible to London/Greater London)
• Professional references will be required
The successful candidate must have the right to work in the UK and be willing to work remotely (with some site/venue/events-based working, where required).
