Assist GR colleagues and leaders across the business to develop and implement effective political, legislative, and regulatory strategies aligned to the objectives of the business.
Establish and maintain organisational relationships with government officials, industry trade associations and industry government relations representatives.
Provide insight on political and legislative developments that impact both Accenture’s business objectives and our client groups, support the business to build strategic relationships, build our brand with political audiences, and manage reputation risks.
UK GR is part of the wider European GR practice and the person in this role will report to and primarily support the UK GR Lead. Depending on their strengths, personal interests and team needs, an element of their time may also be used to support the wider Europe GR team.
Key Responsibility:
UK Business support – contribute to our success in the marketplace based on political and policy insight. Work together with the GR team to advise senior colleagues across Accenture on political, legislative, and regulative changes that impact our operating environment.
Policy advocacy – help inform a policy landscape that supports our business, by supporting the delivery of proactive, innovative, and responsible advocacy programmes. This will include the coordination, development and dissemination of thought leadership and research on key policy topics to enhance our leaders’ external engagement, including support on the delivery of roundtables and other events.
Proactive positioning – position Accenture as a leading professional services firm and as a responsible business with policymakers and clients. Identify and shape opportunities to cement Accenture as a thought leader on issues such as sustainability, skills, and digital policy. Support the business to build strategic relationships that create business opportunities. Work with internal stakeholders to manage and mitigate any potential reputational risks.
Research and monitoring – monitor, track and provide timely and targeted updates on political and policy developments likely to impact Accenture, our clients, and our offerings.
Job Specification:
Demonstrable interest in – and good working knowledge of – politics, public policy, and the issues important to Accenture. Likely to have been gained through around three years of relevant experience – in either an agency and/or parliamentary setting.
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal, with the ability to summarise complex information effectively for a senior leadership audience.
Outcome-focused with the ability to organise, manage and deliver projects on time.
Ability to effectively work on multiple projects with differing timeframes, deliverables, and stakeholders.
Experience in research, the development of thought leadership and/or management of policy campaigns.
Demonstrated ability to identify opportunities to effectively position companies and their policy agenda e.g., speaking opportunities, partnerships, collaborations.
Ability to work effectively within a cross-cultural, multinational environment.
Team player, flexible and pragmatic, with strong interpersonal skills.
Candidates should have the desire to continuously learn and upskill on a variety of topic areas.
