International Employment Counsel
Facebook is seeking a talented lawyer to join as International Employment Counsel in our Employment Law Group. The position will report to the Associate General Counsel, Compensation & Benefits. This is a full-time position, to be based in Facebook’s London or Dublin office.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide counselling and support for the International Compensation and Benefits team, including advising and assisting on the design, implementation, and administration of Facebook’s international benefits programs.
- Monitor legislation, regulations, case law, and government enforcement activities related to the above substantive legal areas and provide proactive strategic advice to the Employment Law Group and relevant stakeholders.
- Advise and provide strategic support to HR Business Partners and business leaders on complicated hires, employee terminations, performance management, accommodations, reorganisations, mergers & acquisitions and other employment-related matters.
- Draft and revise employment and benefit related agreements and policies, including offer letters, severance agreements, confidentiality agreements, employee handbooks and policies, and other employment related documents, applicable to Facebook’s various global employees.
- Collaborate with other attorneys on the global Employment law team with respect to all advice and counselling provided to HR and other cross-functional partners.
- Participate in creation and delivery of training related to employment and benefit law matters.
- Manage pre-litigation and litigation matters
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- LLB or equivalent degree.
- Qualified lawyer in at least one EMEA jurisdiction with excellent academic credentials.
- Minimum 5 years of post-qualification experience in labor, benefits and employment counselling including familiarity with employment law and international employment issues across different EMEA, APAC and LATAM countries, with a willingness to learn in new jurisdictions.
- Experience with coordinating and driving to completion large-scale projects.
- Candidate must be a hands-on worker and team-player, practical, results-oriented, and able to partner effectively with cross-functional teams to provide strategic solutions. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Candidates must be flexible and willing to work extended hours when necessary to connect with colleagues in the U.S., LATAM, EMEA and across APAC, and to complete projects in a timely fashion.
- Strong English communication skills, both verbally and in Minimum 5 years of post-qualification experience in labor, benefits and employment counselling including familiarity with employment law and international employment issues across different EMEA, APAC and LATAM countries, with a willingness to learn in new jurisdictions.
- Willingness and flexibility to travel globally
