Role Purpose

To provide a variety of legal support to Vodafone’s Consumer Business Unit. Primarily focused on Home Broadband, Content and Security sub team with support to Consumer Legal team projects where necessary.

What you’ll do

o To work with the Consumer Legal Team to deliver excellent legal advice and support to the Consumer Business Unit in a way that embodies Vodafone’s values of speed, simplicity and trust;
o To act as a point of contact within the Consumer Legal Team for Vodafone’s HBB, Content and Security products and services;
o To support the Consumer Business Unit with the launch and development of Vodafone’s products and services in a legally and regulatory compliant way, including advising on the impact of key consumer legislation, drafting and amending customer agreements and advising on customer communications and sales journeys;
o To advise on Vodafone’s marketing and promotions in the context of relevant consumer legislation, CAP and BCAP Codes and Guidance, ASA adjudications and CTSI Pricing Guidance;
o To support the transformation of the Consumer Legal Team to facilitate stakeholders self-serving on appropriate legal advice;
o To be responsible for ensuring that the Consumer Business Unit understands what is required to comply with relevant law and regulation and deliver succinct and precise advice and risk-based reports to senior stakeholders to facilitate decision making;
o To provide ongoing training to ensure that key stakeholders engage as efficiently as possible and in a way that manages key legal and regulatory risks;
o To develop and maintain good working relationships with stakeholders to ensure issues are resolved quickly, and escalating to Senior team members or Lead Counsel where appropriate;
o To collaborate effectively with other parts of Consumer Legal, UK and Group Legal, Privacy, Regulatory and Compliance;
o To keep up-to-date with recent legal and regulatory developments and emerging legal issues that could affect Vodafone’s UK operations and advising the business accordingly.

Who you’ll be;

o Experience as a consumer lawyer/regulatory lawyer in private practice or in house ideally in the technology, media or telecommunications industry;
o Excellent communicator with a professional approach and an ability to communicate complex issues in a clear, logical and convincing manner (both in writing and in person);
o Ability to take a proactive and solutions-focussed approach and a clear understanding of the commercial and legal risks.
