We are looking for a qualified woman* solicitor or barrister with experience of family law to work on an exciting two-year case work project, exploring the experiences of victims of domestic abuse in the family court, specifically in private law children cases.

You will be responsible for case work and analysis as part of the project on behalf of victims of abuse involved in private law children proceedings as well as developing external relationships with other professionals and assisting the senior legal officer with development of policy objectives from the project.

You will also be required to support the delivery of Rights of Women’s core services including giving advice on the family law advice line, delivering training and writing publications.

Salary: £35,618 Full-time equivalent rate per annum (Gross Pay) plus 3% pension contribution
Conditions: 35 hours per week (Full time/5 days)
Holiday entitlement: 25 days annual leave plus public holidays [FTE per annum rate] Additionally, Rights of Women closes between Christmas and New Year and the days in between these dates (which aren’t public holidays) are granted as additional leave.
Location: Flexible – home-based or hybrid (office and home-based) working available. Occasional travel requirement across England and Wales for meetings or delivery of training.

Line Manager: Senior Legal Officer (Family and Criminal Law)
Duration: Fixed term until 30 September 2023. Possibility of extension subject to funding.
