We are looking for a qualified woman* solicitor or barrister with experience of family law to deliver our vital legal services for women as part of our family and criminal law team.


You will be delivering family law advice to women who have experienced or are at risk of Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) over the telephone on our advice line.


The Legal Officer (Family & Criminal law) will be based in the Family law team and is responsible for delivery of Rights of Women’s core services including providing legal advice on our telephone advice lines, delivering training and writing publications, supporting survivor engagement and contributing to Rights of Women’s policy work.


Salary: £35,618 Full-time equivalent rate per annum (Gross Pay) plus 3% pension contribution


Conditions: 35 hours per week (Full time/5 days)


Holiday entitlement: 25 days annual leave plus public holidays [FTE per annum rate] Additionally, Rights of Women closes between Christmas and New Year and the days in between these dates (which aren’t public holidays) are granted as additional leave.


Location: Home-based. Possibility of occasional travel requirement in the future across England and Wales, after lockdown restrictions are eased, for meetings or delivery of training.

Duration: Fixed term until 30 June 2022
