The University of Law (ULaw) is one of the world’s largest law schools. With an impressive history dating back to 1876, we employ over 900 staff and have over 14,000 students studying on our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, along with an alumni network in excess of 100,000. We were the first-ever independent institution to be granted degree awarding powers and in 2012 we gained university title. With a rich heritage and a reputation for innovation and contemporary teaching practices, we continuously focus on developing the best legal and business minds. In 2016, we opened our leading Business School, further enhancing our reputation as a full service legal, business and educational training specialist, operating from campuses throughout the UK, Berlin and Hong Kong and an Online campus.

What really sets us apart from other universities is the guiding principle that future lawyers and business leaders should learn in a realistic, professional and contemporary context, with plenty of practical interactive engagement. That’s why we keep our contact hours high and our teaching groups small.

As a private University we are agile and innovative and have experienced significant growth and continue to grow.  We are excited to be opening our Newcastle campus, in a city centre site, at the University of Newcastle. We will be delivering the LPC, GDL, MAL and SQE courses to students who have graduated from the University of Newcastle, other local universities and to those who have chosen Newcastle as the location of the next stage of their legal training. We are now looking to recruit a Campus Manager to join us on our exciting journey.

The role requires leadership, management and professional expertise in delivering, to a high standard, all courses available at the Newcastle campus and other support activities e.g. pastoral care, marketing and extra-curricular activities.  You will work closely with the Leeds Campus Management team to enhance the student experience by securing high quality teaching, making effective use of staff resource and delivering within budget. You, as the Campus Manager, will be pivotal in leading the development of the Newcastle campus.

The successful candidate will have extensive experience in HE, preferably having been involved in course leadership and/or people management. Alternatively they may be a practising senior solicitor or barrister, with leadership experience, looking for a career change and a new challenge. In any event they will be a proactive individual who is focussed on providing a consistently excellent student and staff experience.

We offer an excellent range of competitive benefits including 35 days annual leave, private medical insurance, pension scheme, life assurance, training/qualifications and travel loans.

Are you ready to join our dynamic team and help contribute to our success?

If you would like to arrange an informal discussion prior to application, please contact:

Matt Tomlinson, Dean, Leeds campus, Matthew.Tomlinson@law.ac.uk or Andrea Jones, Head of Tutors, Leeds campus,  Andrea.Jones@law.ac.uk

No agencies please.

Some posts within the University are subject to a DBS check – you will be notified of this during the application process.

As an equal opportunities employer, we welcome applications from all suitably qualified persons. However, as Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) individuals are currently under-represented within the University – which does not reflect our diverse student body – we would particularly welcome applications from BAME candidates. All appointments will be made on merit.
