The University of Law (ULaw) is one of the world’s largest law schools. With an impressive history dating back to 1876, we employ over 900 staff and have over 14,000 students studying on our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, along with an alumni network in excess of 100,000. We were the first-ever independent institution to be granted degree awarding powers and in 2012 we gained university title. With a rich heritage and a reputation for innovation and contemporary teaching practices, we continuously focus on developing the best legal and business minds.
In 2016, we opened our leading Business School, further enhancing our reputation as a full service legal, business and educational training specialist, operating from campuses throughout the UK, Berlin and Hong Kong and an Online campus.
What really sets us apart from other universities is the guiding principle that future lawyers and business leaders should learn in a realistic, professional and contemporary context, with plenty of practical interactive engagement. That’s why we keep our contact hours high and our teaching groups small.
The University is in an ongoing, exciting period of growth, expansion and diversification and we currently have a vacancy for a Law Tutor within our expanding Moorgate teaching Team.
Our Moorgate campus is the largest specialist corporate law school in the UK, which is located in the City of London close to leading global law firms.
We are looking to recruit a law tutor who is a qualified solicitor or barrister with a genuine passion for quality and excellence. You will also be able to demonstrate successful legal practice experience and inspire the next generation of our profession.
You will enjoy being challenged by students and course content in equal measure, and be able to adapt to the different learning styles of students and methods of course delivery. You will be eager to share your expertise and become involved in all aspects of enhancing the student experience within our Moorgate campus, primarily teaching on our LPC and GDL programmes. We also run Masters Programmes in corporate law and legal technology.
Full training will be given and, as part of the tutor development programme, we will also support you in studying for a recognised teaching qualification.
If you would like to arrange an informal discussion prior to application, please contact Mary Medyckyj at mary.medyckyj@law.ac.uk.
No agencies please.
Some posts within the University are subject to a DBS check – you will be notified of this during the application process.
As an equal opportunities employer, we welcome applications from all suitably qualified persons. However, as Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) individuals are currently under-represented within the University – which does not reflect our diverse student body – we would particularly welcome applications from BAME candidates. All appointments will be made on merit.
