Job Description

THE UNIVERSITY OF LAW – TUTOR/SENIOR TUTOR WITH COURSE LEADER RESPONSIBILITIES, LONDON (BLOOMSBURY)

Apply here by 13 July 2020

We are seeking to recruit an ambitious individual who wants to forge or continue a meaningful career in teaching and course design in Higher Education. You may or may not have previous experience of teaching and course design, but what is important to us is that you have the drive and enthusiasm to learn.

The position includes a 0.4 time allowance for the role of LLB Course Leader. You will assist the LLB Programme and Student Lead in dealing with LLB student issues and enhancing the learning experience of our undergraduate students.

Teaching in Higher Education can be challenging but rewarding and we are looking to recruit highly motivated individuals who are ready to make a positive contribution. You will be keen to share your expertise and to become involved in all aspects of enhancing the student experience at our Bloomsbury campus, including teaching on our LLB, LPC, GDL, MA, BPTC and/or Masters programmes. In return, we will guarantee you a supportive and friendly environment where considerable opportunities for learning and career development exist for the right people.

We are looking to recruit a law tutor/senior tutor – either a qualified solicitor or barrister who can demonstrate successful legal practice experience.

As part of the tutor development programme, we will also support you to study for a recognised teaching qualification.

If you would like to arrange an informal discussion prior to application, please contact Sarah Corbett – phone 01483 216535 or email sarah.corbett@law.ac.uk

No agencies please.

Some posts within the University are subject to a DBS check – you will be notified of this during the application process.

As an equal opportunities employer, we welcome applications from all suitably qualified persons. However, as Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) individuals are currently under-represented within the University – which does not reflect our diverse student body – we would particularly welcome applications from BAME candidates. All appointments will be made on merit.
