Who are we?

We are one of the world’s largest law schools with an impressive history going back to 1876. We employ over 700 staff and have over 9,000 students studying law, criminology and policing, as well as business through our dedicated business school. ULaw has an outstanding reputation as a full service legal and educational training specialist, operating from 15 locations in 13 cities across the UK along with our international locations in Berlin and Hong Kong, and additional global reach through online and virtual provision.

What are we looking for?

Due to ongoing growth and new programme introduction we currently have a vacancy for a tutor/senior tutor to be based at our Manchester Campus. This is an opportunity to inspire and develop the next generation of legal talent and you will be eager to share your expertise and become involved in all aspects of enhancing the student experience within our campus. You will be a qualified legal professional with a genuine passion for quality and excellence, who can demonstrate successful legal practice experience.  You will enjoy being challenged (by students and course content in equal measure) and be able to adapt to the different learning styles of students and methods of course delivery.

We are interested in hearing from applicants across the range of subject disciplines offered at undergraduate and postgraduate level at ULaw Manchester campus; in particular those who could provide tuition within Property, Business law, Criminology, Public and also applicants who are solicitor advocates or barristers who can teach on the Bar Practice Course in Civil and/or Criminal law.

Please note that classes are also routinely delivered over weekends and evenings and tutors are expected to work flexibly within these parameters.

As part of the tutor development programme, we will also support you to study for a recognised teaching qualification within your first 18 months of employment.

For an informal discussion about the role please contact David Molyneux at or Laura McGarry at

Interviews will be held w/c 15th February via video conferencing.

No agencies please.

Some posts within the University are subject to a DBS check – you will be notified of this during the application process.

As an equal opportunities employer, we welcome applications from all suitably qualified persons. However, as Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) individuals are currently under-represented within the University – which does not reflect our diverse student body – we would particularly welcome applications from BAME candidates. All appointments will be made on merit.
