The Bank of England is the UK’s central bank. Our 4,000-strong team maintain monetary and financial stability for the good of the country and the British people. The issues we deal with affect everyone. Support our vital work. Join the Bank of England team.
As a lawyer within our award-winning legal team, you’ll work at the frontier of financial services. It’s a chance to join around 150 colleagues from both public and private sector, and from many different legal and cultural backgrounds. The growing diversity of our legal team is matched only by the diversity of our legal work. We aim to do as much of our work as possible in-house, which means we handle legal issues of unusual breadth, depth and complexity.
Right now, we have a variety of opportunities available across our Legal Directorate. We’re looking for expertise in a broad range of areas, including Insurance, Insolvency, Employment Law, Data Privacy, International Trade and Markets & Banking. Wherever your knowledge lies, you’ll support senior lawyers, advise colleagues across the Bank and lead client relationships (in higher grade roles). At the same time, you’ll develop your expertise in your practice area.
We welcome qualified lawyers with experience in relevant areas, but also those who are keen to learn. If you’re returning to work after a career break, you’ll find there’s support every step of the way. What’s important is an approachable, professional manner, the ability to work flexibly and build connections with colleagues. A risk-aware problem solver, you’ll be curious and always ready to build your skills.
Join us and you’ll be part of a diverse team where everyone’s free to excel. The Bank of England is proud to be a Disability Confident Employer and an inclusive organisation, with great work-life balance.
